  Never knew given birth can be such a humbling experience...

  
  

  02/20/05 10pm - Garry & I arrived hospital
  02/20/05 11pm - admitted hospital
  02/21/05 12am - 4 cm dilated, doctor ordered me to walk for an hour...and YES, walk for ONE hour at 12 midnight!
  02/21/05 01am - waited for labor & delivery room
  02/21/05 02am - transferred to labor & delivery room, hooked up with all kinds of wires & tubes, then rest
  02/21/05 ??am - had a dream about holding Seraphina in my hands & nursing her
  02/21/05 06am - began labor induction
  02/21/05 10am - still 4 cm dilated...doctor crank up induction medicine to the max..still no labor pain
  02/21/05 12pm - only 6 cm dilated...doctor broke the water.  Ahhh.....painful contraction began...
  02/21/05 01pm - Jane came visit...with chicken leg over rice and Boba...of course not for me, but for Garry & John
  02/21/05 11pm - still 6 cm dilated
  02/22/05 01am - with only 6 cm dilated for too long, doctors had a meeting and wanted to cut me (cesarean or c-section).  I asked and begged the doctors to give me a little more time.  Finally the doctors agreed to give me 2 more hours...if no dilation improvement, they will give me cesarean.
  02/22/05 01:30am - Garry lay hands on me & we prayed...I asked God to grant me the vision He gave me (the dream about holding Seraphina the night before).  I told God that if He would just give me 2 more cm, I will be in such joy.  Then Garry & I went to sleep (actually short nap).
  02/22/05 03am - doctor came & checked.  I was exactly 8 cm dilated...as what I have asked God for.
  02/22/05 03:30am - Garry & I prayed again...
  02/22/05 05am - doctor came back & checked.  I was 10 cm dilated...ready to push the baby out!  hee...heee....PUSH....hee...heee...PUSH!
  02/22/05 06am - still hee...heee...PUSH... No sign of the baby's head at all...in fact, the baby's head position was not quite right...then the baby's heart beat slowed down at certain position...
  02/22/05 07am - still no improvement...the nurses had brought out all kinds of tools..then the doctor came and told me that my labor was TOO long, and it was dangerous to the mother...etc.  In short, she wants to cut me again.  Oh..no...  I begged & pleaded.  She said, the most she was willing to give me is one more hour to push.  At that time, I was so tired that I didn't think that I could physically handle one more hour.  I thought to myself, one hours is too long, but 30 minutes is too short.  So I asked the doctor to give me 45 minutes to try to push this baby out.  The doctor agreed.
  02/22/05 07am - with only 45 more minutes to push, I asked Garry to lay hands on me & pray for me while I recited "I can do all things ghrought Christ who strengthens me" and push!  In the mean time...I told myself, in order for me to capture the vision He has for me...I must persist and belive!  AND YES, I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!
  02/22/05 08am - BABY SERAPHINA WAS BORN...WITHOUT CESAREAN...by HIS Grace!
